Research Laboratory

Overview

The Faculty of Medicines Research Laboratory is a highly specialized facility designed to support advanced scientific research. Our lab aims to conduct advanced research that directly benefits community health and improves healthcare standards, while also equipping medical students with essential research skills empowering them to contribute to medical research and innovation, ultimately preparing them to address real-world health challenges and make impact in their future careers.

Our lab is equipped with advanced and functional instruments like Laminar Flow Hoods to maintain sterile environments, ensuring contamination-free experiments. We also have analytical balances and centrifuges for crucial tasks such as samples preparation. In addition to, gel electrophoresis systems and gel documentation system and thermocycler for DNA analysis, allowing us to visualize and amplify genetic material with accuracy. In addition to our molecular tools, the lab contains an automated platform for nucleic acid purification, ensuring high-quality sample preparation for downstream applications. Incubators, ovens, and an Inverted Microscope provide essential capabilities for cell culture and microscopic analysis, enabling us to observe cellular dynamics in real-time. Our dedicated cell culture room, with its carefully controlled airflow system, is designed to foster optimal conditions for cell growth and experimentation, making it an essential component of our laboratory setup.
