The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University, Professor Malik Zaben, visited Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem as part of the Faculty’s efforts to enhance joint cooperation in clinical training and develop medical education for the Faculty students from the Jerusalem Governorate and the Palestinian Occupied territory.
Prof. Zaben was received by the Director General of Al-Makassed Hospital, Dr. Omar Abu Zaida, and many medical and administrative staff. An official meeting was held during which the two sides discussed ways to expand academic and training cooperation between the two institutions. This will ensure the provision of a distinguished clinical training environment for medical students, particularly those from Jerusalem and the Palestinian occupied territory. The goal is to facilitate their access to practical training opportunities in a distinguished medical environment close to their areas of residence.
During the meeting, Professor Zaben emphasized the importance of this partnership, stressing that Al-Makassed Hospital, with its extensive experience and distinguished staff, constitutes a pioneering medical and educational institution that can significantly contribute to supporting the careers of medical students at the Arab American University, in terms of both clinical training and academic and research enrichment.
The two parties discussed ways of organizing clinical training for students and developed future plans for cooperation in the fields of medical research, continuing education programs, and academic exchange between medical and educational staff from both sides.
