Clinical Skills Laboratory

Overview

This lab (AMS-A103) is affiliated with the Clinical Training Department in the Faculty of Medicine, and serves clinical training students at all levels. It contains advanced interactive puppets that simulate the human body and its vital signs, in addition to the ability to control these signs to simulate diseases in a way that serves to distinguish and diagnose them. For example, the student will be able to distinguish normal heartbeats from pathological ones, and distinguish these diseases from each other based on the sound.

This lab also contains many puppets, devices and equipment that prepare the student to be experienced in dealing with medical cases in hospitals and the method of diagnosing and treating them, such as models that simulate surgical cases during operations. Thus, the student can learn the correct and accurate suture methods to close these wounds in an ideal way, in addition to models that simulate the method of working diagnostic endoscopes of all kinds, models of skin ulcers to distinguish between them and deal with each type, as well as devices for examining vision and hearing with the presence of pathological slides for each of them. This is to distinguish between these diseases as well, and other advanced tools that prepare the student to deal with all medical cases before entering the local community, which prepares the student to excel in performance and creativity.

This laboratory is subject to the international ISO instructions of safety and security, which provides a safe and appropriate environment to ensure academic quality. It is worth noting that there are development plans and international academic accreditations on an ongoing basis in order to serve the educational process, student excellence and academic creativity.
