The lab aims to enable medical and other health science students to understand and analyze the physiological processes occurring in the human body through a variety of practical experiments. During these lab sessions, students develop the skills to analyze normal physiological conditions, interpret clinical data, and apply this knowledge to patient care. Additionally, the lab encourages collaboration, teamwork, and scientific research, preparing students for the clinical practice by enhancing their competence in physiological measurements and understanding their significance in patient care and health monitoring.

Equipment and Tools
The Medical Physiology Laboratory at the Arab American University of Palestine is equipped with modern tools and advanced technologies that allow for precise physiological measurements and simulations. Some key equipment includes: light microscopes, electrocardiograms (ECG) for cardiac monitoring, spirometers for lung function assessment, pulse and blood pressure monitors, human body models used in practical techniques like blood withdrawal, centrifuges for blood component analysis, and other necessary equipment for evaluating different physiological functions. Furthermore, students are provided with the opportunity to learn essential clinical techniques in medical physiology such as blood typing, blood clotting assessment, urine analysis, examination of salivary and lacrimal gland functions, nerve function testing, neurological reflex studies, and other techniques.

Clinical Importance
The practical skills acquired in the Medical Physiology Lab are directly applicable to clinical practice. Students learn to interpret diagnostic tools such as ECGs, spirometers, and blood pressure monitors, while gaining a deeper understanding of physiological changes associated with conditions like heart failure and respiratory disorders. This hands-on experience builds their confidence in using medical devices and techniques, which are crucial for their future roles in healthcare.
